Job description:
The successful candidate will be required to maintain the company's existing CRM system written in PHP with a complex MySQL database. Self motivation, development and problem solving skills are essential as you will be the technical expert within the organisation and will be expected to research and solve problems if/when they arise.
As a small business the job role would need to remain varied as opportunities arise but in the main would be to provide advice and expertise in any areas possible covering some or all of the following;
* Database design
* Web site design
* Search Engine Optimisation
* Network design
* General systems advice/design
Candidate should be highly competent in the design and development of online systems using LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) architecture.
This should include all aspects of the system including;
database design, database normalisation, interface design, server-side programming and client-side programming/mark-up.
These skills would be to complement existing skills within the organisation but also to attract fresh and radical approaches.
Hours of work: 9am 5.30pm. Mon Fri. (1 hour lunch break)

Basic knowledge required in:
* WML
* Adobe/Macromedia Dreamweaver
* Apache 1.3 Web Server Configuration
* XML (with PHP integration)
* Microsoft Access
* Microsoft Excel
* VBA
* Visual Basic 6
Additional requirments:
* phpMyAdmin
* DirectAdmin
* Graphic Design / Fireworks
* Adobe/Macromedia Flash

* The Company was formed in November 2002. Their primary focus is to speak to businesses who use BT for their telephone call packages and ascertain if they could save money by changing voice packages whilst remaining with BT. This service is purely B2B.
* They offer a more compact website filled with the information that clients need at their fingertips and regular reviews to ensure they are making the most of discount plans available.
* They also have an SMS division that provides Business Class SMS solutions and mobile hosted solutions
* Their extensive knowledge of SMS text marketing techniques, Bulk SMS MMS messaging, Premium Content, or WAP services, coupled with their unique style, enables them to provide their customers with a business edge.
Internship placement location:
* Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
* Huddersfield is a true Yorkshire town, full of surprising qualities, strong traditions, impressive architecture, quality shopping, top class sport, exciting festivals and artistic reputation.
* Set on the edge of the wonderful scenery of the Peak District National Park and South Pennines, there is plenty to see and do there.
* The major city of Leeds is just 15 miles away and Manchester is 20 miles approx.
* There are international airports at Leeds/Bradford and Manchester.
Remuneration:
* A minimum training allowance of £830 per month will be provided to assist with accommodation and subsistence costs.
* 4 weeks holiday p.a. + bank holidays
* For the right candidate, there is also the chance of a permanent position within the company after you have graduated.
